La festa della mamma nacque negli Stati Uniti nel 1907, come espressione pubblica di amore e gratitudine per le madri e speranza per la pace.
La festa si è diffusa in molti paesi del mondo, ma cambiano le date in cui si festeggia.
L’Italia adotta la data americana: la seconda domenica di maggio.
Quasi tutte le mamme ricevono dai figli doni e rose rosse.
